Cause Description:
a. To facilitate and assist Chesapeake Animal Services, the municipal animal shelter in the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, with caring for, and providing medical care for, the animals sheltered at, or otherwise in the care or custody of, Chesapeake Animal Services. b. To provide community information and education on issues related to animal welfare. c. To facilitate programs that may help reduce the overpopulation of domesticated animals. d. To facilitate programs that may help domesticated animals to be returned to their owners if they become strays. e. To facilitate the well-being and adoption of animals sheltered at, or otherwise in the care or custody of, Chesapeake Animal Services. f. To facilitate the provision of proper facilities and equipment (and repairs thereto) at, and training for animals control officers, staff and volunteers of, Chesapeake Animal Services, for purposes of facilitating the care, well-being, handling, sheltering, transporting, and/or enrichment of the animals sheltered at, or otherwise in the care or custody of, Chesapeake Animal Services.
